How to Apply Iron On Patches

Preheat the fabric, position the patch with the adhesive side facing down, and cover it with a thin pressing cloth. Press firmly with a hot iron without steam, following the supplied temperature and timing instructions. Allow the patch to cool before checking the edges. For frequently washed garments, stitching around the border provides extra security.

Vector artwork is preferred, but clear photographs, sketches and low-resolution images can also be reviewed. Our team will prepare a digital proof for your approval before production.

Production and Shipping

Once the artwork is approved, your iron-on patches enter production and are checked before dispatch. UAE orders are shipped with tracking, with delivery generally taking 1–2 business days after production. International orders are shipped via DHL/FedEx and Aramex, with transit time depending on the destination and customs clearance.

Which Fabrics Work Best for Iron On Patches?

An iron on patch bonds through controlled heat and pressure, so attachment quality depends on the fabric. Densely woven cotton, denim, canvas, and twill usually provide a stable surface because heat-softened adhesive can settle into the weave. Coated, loosely structured, or heat-sensitive materials should be tested first because high temperatures may distort the textile or prevent a durable bond.

Not recommended. Nylon and other technical fabrics are often too heat-sensitive to reach the temperature iron-on adhesive needs, and the fabric can warp or melt before the patch bonds. Sew-on or Velcro backing is a safer choice for nylon gear.

Yes, once properly bonded. Machine washing on a normal cycle is fine; avoid high-heat drying, which can weaken the adhesive over repeated washes.

At the correct heat setting, no. Using too high a temperature is what causes visible damage , a glossy sheen, discoloration, or a slightly melted texture on the raised details. This is another reason a moderate setting and a pressing cloth matter more with PVC than with embroidered patches.
